It also has fewer calories, which makes it the best choice for individuals who want to lose weight. The sweet factor: Almond milk produces a sweet, nutty taste in your smoothies. Given that almonds are naturally nutritious, almond milk does not require to be fortified with additional nutrients.

Cons of Almond Milk One cup of almond milk provides a measly 1 gram of protein, a sharp contrast to regular milk that has 8 grams of protein in a similar serving. It also lacks in calcium; hence not the best alternative for individuals with conditions such as osteoporosis.  

Which is the Healthier Option? Regular milk contains many of the nutrients that the body needs. Nonetheless, if one is intolerant to the lactose ingredient contained in regular milk, almond milk is the ideal substitute.
